In Memory of LTC Lee J. Harrer ’52

LTC Lee J. HARRER ’52 US Army (Ret.) passed away with his family by his side, April 14, 2021, at Suncoast Hospice. Lee was born May 12, 1930 in Evanston, IL. He graduated Ripon College, WI, in 1952, and began his army career in August, 1952. Lee and Rita were married December 1, 1956. Lee did a tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, retiring in July,1973, and making their home in Clearwater. Lee went into real estate as an agent/broker in 1976. He always had a love of books and dabbled in book collecting and selling even before real estate and in 1998, retired to devote his full attention as the -“the Midnight Bookman”.

Lee was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Rita, and survived by daughter, Lisa (Craig) Vaughan, grandchildren, Brandon and Delaney, her fiancé Doug West and great-granddaughters, Delanie and Leia Lee West.
