In Memory of Alan Long ’69

ALAN D. LONG ’69 of Green Bay, Wisconsin, died Aug. 7, 2023. At Ripon, he majored in biology and participated in athletics and Phi Delta Theta/Alpha Phi Omega. He taught at Annunciation Catholic School and then worked in commercial interior sales and management. He was active in athletics his whole life. At Ripon, he played a key role on two Midwest Conference Championship football teams as a running back. He set several school records, and his mark of the most rushing touchdowns in school history stood for 25 years. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. As an adult, he played AAA Fastpitch and golf. He loved the outdoors, trout fishing, and bird and deer hunting. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Long; and two children.
