Greetings, Class of 2006!
In our last note—which you should have received by email in early April (if not, let us know so we can confirm your email address)—we shared information about the College’s then-upcoming #OneDayRally that was to take place April 25.
For 18 hours and 51 minutes (a nod to the year Ripon was founded), the College, alumni, and supporters rallied together to encourage gifts of any amount from a goal of 425 donors. We’re happy to share that the goal was SMASHED, with the campaign reaching 940 donors and raising $656,626!
Our own class was well-represented. A huge thank you to those of you who helped put our class into 4th place in terms of number of donors. We collectively contributed more than $2,100. It’s fantastic to see our class so engaged in supporting the mission of the College.
And, with that, let’s move on to some news and updates from our class:
MICHELE BERGMAN ’06 of Madison, Wisconsin, married Max Lamberg in November. Wedding guests included KRISTI BRAUND ATTWOOD ’02 and ANDY ATTWOOD ’02, CRAIG SAUER ’05, PHIL BUTCHER ’04, SHANE EBEL ’07 and ROSE MCNULTY EBEL ’06 with daughter Lucette (Class of 2038, hopefully!), ANDREW KITSLAAR ’06, TOMISSA PORATH ’10, ALISHA GARD ’06, JONNY GAUSEWITZ ’06, ELIZABETH MILLER BENNETT ’06, MICHELLE CALDER REPPERT ’06, DAVE BADE ’03, HAYLEY DOYLE ’06, MATTHEW NICOLAI ’06, Beth Byrnes, and TYLER BYRNES ’04, and EMMY GIOVANNI ’06. Shane Ebel was the officiant, Rose was Michele’s attendant, Emmy was a bridesmaid, and Lucette was the ring bearer.
STEPHANIE CHACHARON ’06 of Seattle, Washington, and husband, Adam, welcomed their second son, Luke Murphy, on April 4. His big brother Levi, 4, is very excited to show his brother the world of cranes, tractors, and bikes. Stephanie soaked up several months of maternity leave before returning to her role as marketing director for Fitcode, a fashion data startup.
JEN MILLEN EVEN ’06 of Dubuque, Iowa, is putting a lot of miles into her running shoes. She even completed a 50-mile race.
ED HANSEN ’06 of Tallahassee, Florida, taught a 4-week course in London during the summer through Florida State University’s International Programs department. The course focused on applied social psychology and explored various aspects of identity (social, gender, cultural, etc.).
VICTOR MAGNUS ’06 of Wautoma, Wisconsin, writes, “2017 was a crazy year of change. It included selling our first home and being homeless for 8 months (lived with the in-laws)! JACKI WEISS MAGNUS ’05 had a job change, I was promoted in the national guard to First Sergeant and now I am responsible for over 100 soldiers. We eventually found a new home and moved in early December. I made a job change and started my own insurance agency for Rural Mutual Insurance one week after buying our new home. Our son Urijah, 9, made it to youth state for wrestling last year and came up short this year. Our beautiful daughter will be 5 in July of 2018 and we will subsequently celebrate our 14th anniversary on Kinzley’s birthday.”
ANDREW PHAM ’06 of Spokane, Washington, continues to work for Shell and reached 10 years with the company in July.
