Hello Class of 2001,

Tubthumping, Barbie Girl, MMMBop, Quit Playing Games, Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Jock Jams!

Do we now have your attention? It has been over 20 years since we blasted these tunes through lounge speakers, but they still are in our memories and hearts. I’m confident the same is true of all the experiences you shared at Ripon College; from “Energy Ovations” during freshman orientation in the fall of 1997 to looking out on our family and friends as we crossed into the alumni ranks on the Harwood Memorial Union stage at Commencement 2001.

While critical matters like COVID-19, political contests, and social justice reform have engulfed many of our efforts these days, we also want to acknowledge what is personally happening with some of our classmates, who have shared their family updates.

  • CHRIS CURRAN ’01 recently switched career paths to enjoy a change from industrial design to real estate. He is now working in the Chicagoland area with the #1 brokerage @properties.
  • CANDY PLENCNER VONDRA ’01 and her husband welcomed twin boys, Cooper and Cody, on January 6, 2020.

During these unprecedented times, this is a critical time for our Alma Mater. While you are likely used to receiving an annual “ask” from us, this year likely feels different. Your contribution will provide flexible resources that can make an immediate impact. We encourage all of you to contribute to our Class Gift through the Ripon Fund. For those of you who want to get an early start on it, please log on to https://www.ripon.edu/make-a-gift/.

We hope to see all of you on campus for our 20th Reunion Weekend, June 24-27, 2021, for what is anticipated to be the LARGEST ever alumni gathering! If you have ideas or would like to be a part of the planning, please let us know.

Always a Red Hawk!
