Hi All,

I hope you are all still doing well, staying healthy, and keeping busy. School has started, and once again the summer flew by. Check in on www.ripon.edu and/or social media for the latest College updates. If you’re not part of the Ripon College Class of 1993 Facebook page, please join! 

Here’s some news from our class:  

  • Well, I checked all my messages and only one person sent me (or Ripon) anything this time (hint, hint), so you get to hear about me! I completed my Certificate in American Sign Language Studies in May and I’m hoping to keep up my skills so I don’t forget the new language I learned! I also want to advocate more for the D/deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. 
  • DANIELLE STREBER VARNELL ’93 of Davidsonville, Maryland, joined Bracewell LLP in June 2020 as a partner in the firm’s power practice. She represents a broad range of clients on M&A transactions and project development in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on renewable energy.

News from Ripon:

  • Alumni Weekend took place August 6-8. Alumni from the classes of 1961-2023, coming from 29 states, were on campus. Save the date for Alumni Weekend 2022, which will go back to the traditional end of June date: June 23-26, 2022.
  • The Class of 2025 started on August 27 and is 250 students strong. Ripon also welcomed nine transfer students. 
  • This year’s #OneDayRally had a record-breaking 2,087 donors from around the world! Thank you if you were one of the donors, or if you were one of the over 3600 donors who supported Ripon this past fiscal year. 
  • The McCullough Family Lounge in Farr Hall of Science—a favorite location of students for studying and collaborative work—recently received an extreme makeover with the intent of making the space more contemporary and technologically friendly. The renovations were made possible by a lead gift from Trustee PHILIP MCCULLOUGH ’69/P’04, and his wife, Pat. Also, a new Data Visualization Lab was installed in Todd Wehr Hall, which will be a great asset for the math and computer science departments.
