Happy Summer,
I hope all is well with all of you.
This letter will be light on class news due to me totally dropping the ball. Like many of you, the last six months have been hectic in the Erickson household. I’ve learned that multitasking is the root of all evil and to live with gratitude because positive energy is way more fun than negative.
We moved my 90+ year old mother to Florida from Illinois, coordinated care as my mother-in-law prepared and recovered from a successful adrenalectomy and rejoiced as our daughter graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with her BME. Topping it off with my younger brother’s ‘mild’ heart attack in June. An angioplasty and 2 stents later he is doing well. A lesson here for all of us – triple cheeseburgers are never part of a healthy diet after 40.
We are living our 50’s with passion and grace. I see the amazing things we’re are doing through my friends on Facebook. We are active; traveling Europe, enjoying grandbabies, moving into new homes, planning weddings, and watching our kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews graduate from high school and college. Some are starting new careers or following interesting hobbies and pastimes.
Next year is a milestone reunion year. It would be great to see everyone back at Ripon in person to share stories, pictures and experiences. I challenge all of you to start planning now for a trip to Ripon, Wisconsin during June 2019.
Please mark your calendars for June 27-30, 2019 now, more details about our 35th Reunion during Alumni Weekend 2019 coming soon!
I look forward to seeing you there.
