1972 – Spring ’23 Class Letter
Greetings Classmates,
I hope that this letter finds you well. Spring is always a great time of year as it points to renewal. Thinking back on 50 years since our graduation from Ripon College I realize how fortunate we are to have had such a great education. Many of our classmates went on to achieve advanced degrees and certificates in a wide variety of disciplines. Many have had great careers and are now retiring to spend time traveling, perfecting hobbies and spending time with children and grandchildren.
Alumni Weekend this year will also be special as several classmates will be celebrating with their spouses and other close friends in the Class of ’73. Mark your calendars to attend June 22 – June 25, 2023. Below you can find information if you are planning to attend.
The College is three hours north of Chicago, and served by airports in Milwaukee (a two-hour drive from Ripon), Madison (a 1.5 hour drive), and Appleton (a 45 minute drive). Milwaukee offers the most frequent service. From the Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and Appleton airports guests may choose to rent a car. Ripon is served by taxi to and from the Appleton airport.

As we continue to age gracefully, we lost one of our own:
JEREL REYNOLDS ’72 died Dec. 23, 2019. At Ripon, he majored in history. He was a co-owner of Britches Excavating. Survivors include a sister, LORI REYNOLDS ’83.
On April 22, 2023 Ripon College will inaugurate its 14th President Dr. Victoria N. Folse. Dr. Folse is the first woman to serve as president of the college. Classmates who attended the Golden R celebration had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Folse and hear about her vision for the college. I encourage all of you who live in the area to attend the Inauguration and show your support for this historic occasion.
Thank so many of you for your continuous support of Ripon College, especially during the #OneDayRally and for a great Class Gift. I trust that you will continue to support the College and thank you in advance for your generosity. I encourage all classmates to support the ongoing work of the college and remember the positive role education plays in a successful, productive life.
