In Memory of Helene Altergott Huver ’52
HELENE ALTERGOTT HUVER ’52 of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died May 11, 2021. At Ripon, she majored in Spanish and English and participated in Ver Adest and Alpha Gamma Theta. She received a master’s degree in Latin American studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also attended Lawrence University, Yale University and the University of Minnesota. She taught at schools in Illinois, Connecticut and Minnesota, and she taught adults Spanish at the Community Education Evening Schools for many years. She coordinated Mexican stays with the Experiment in International Living and enjoyed living with a Spanish family in Madrid, with nuns in Puerto Rico, and in Santiago, Chile, and Puebla, Oaxaca and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Survivors include one daughter; and a brother, HARVEY ALTERGOTT ’56.
