From Shawn Karsten '09
Following the most successful fundraising year in Ripon College’s history in FY ’21, loyal supporters from around the world came through once again with a second record-breaking year in FY’22. On behalf of the immediate and extended Ripon College community, thank you for the role you played in leading us to our most successful fundraising year ever – over $26 million in new funds committed.
The Ripon Fund is a critical measure of donor support, which over the past 10 years, has provided an average of $2 million annually to the College’s operating budget to enhance the student experience and complement our endowment and tuition dollars. In 2021-2022, the College exceeded its budgeted goal by over $500,000, finishing the fiscal year at $2.75 million. Once again, the fifth annual #OneDayRally exceeded expectations, reeling in more than $1.4 million from a total of 2,217 donors.
The value of the Ripon College endowment was $103,532,190 on June 30, 2022, with the following endowed fund allocation…
- Scholarships and Awards – 69.5%
- Chairs and Professorships – 13.7%
- Academic Programs – 12.5%
- Unrestricted – 3.1%
- Facilities/Maintenance – 1.2%
Over half of FY ‘22 gift production was committed to Ripon College’s $35 million investment in strategic infrastructure projects, highlighting our commitment to our history of academic excellence, enhancement of campus vitality, and the overall student experience. The first phase will prioritize a $24.5 million investment in the science center and an $8.5 million investment in the campus stadium, both of which are projected to break ground in the spring of 2023. Planning for upgrades to the residence halls has commenced and the College hopes to finalize plans within the next year.
On behalf of the students, faculty and staff, thank you for all you do for Ripon College. We are especially grateful for the inspiration you provided us in 2022 and wish you all the best in 2023.
